Old school musician

Here’s another image from last weekend’s accordion festival. This guy is old school, but his look is très cool. No need for color–his vibe is all about black and white. I grabbed the shot while standing just outside a small booth where accordions were being sold.

This past weekend our band played at the Cotati Accordion Festival. Our set was on Saturday, but Maggie and I were there all day, both days, selling merch and hanging with friends and fans. When I wasn’t at the booth working, eating or enjoying a cold beer or two ;-), I was out and about with my camera. My first offering is a portrait of our fiddler friend Scott working a button box.

Blogging in limbo

My blog got migrated to a new server on August 8th, but the DNS didn’t kick in until 2 days ago. Weird, I know. So, except for this post, it’s frozen on 8/8 until my ISP gets around to restoring the more current database. Hopefully that will happen some time today. Until then…

Update (8/22 at 4:30 PM): Finally! It took the whole weekend before the ISP had my blog back to it’s most current state. New post coming shortly.

Pushing the envelope

I’ve been an avid Photoshop user since the early 90s. During the first 7 years of my current career I did a LOT of image production work in Photoshop. So, yeah, I can make it go. I took this image of a section of the support columns under the Mill Valley bridge during yesterday’s commute shoot. The golden yellows and blues were in the original, but I used some Photoshop moves to make the colors more vibrant and dramatic. Why not?
