Out and about for dinner

OK, so I’m on a faux HDR kick. No doubt it won’t be long before I’ll dial back it back, but for now I’m having fun tweaking with abandon. Interestingly, not all images lend themselves to this kind of heavy processing–especially when going for a “painterly” look. This one, taken this past weekend while out for Mexican food, took the process quite nicely.

New band photo

Today I did a photo shoot on my patio with the band. For lighting I used a single speedlite (Canon 430ex II) and a shoot thru umbrella. The backdrop was a $10 plastic tarp. This was the money shot (if you look closely you can see the shutter trigger in my right hand).
